The Men's World Candlepin Championship 2007 ended Saturday, November
17 at the Halifax Fairlanes Bowling Center, in Halifax, Nova Scotia.

The final rounds of the playoffs were held today, and MacLaughlin's
Truck & Trailer of Nova Scotia is the 2007 champion.  They defeated
the defending champion Halifax Fairlanes / Pelham Electric / A+
Accounting 2017 to 1881.  This decisive victory returned MacLaughlin's
to the top of the candlepin bowling world.  They were the champions
from 2002 to 2005, before being defeated by Fairlanes in the 2006
playoffs.  They exacted their revenge by throwing a 717-683-617 (2017
total) against a 601-609-671 (1881 total).  Having an almost 200 pin
lead going into the final string, they coasted to victory.  

Both of these teams fought hard to make it through the playoffs,
having squeaked out close victories in the preliminary rounds.

The winning team consisted of Chris Hollett (who held the high average
during qualifying), Rob Henderson, Sean O'Flaherty, Davey Somerton,
Pat Birchill, Tony MacLaughlin, and Tim Carrigan.

The 2008 tournament will be returning to Brewer, Maine.
