May 3/05: Final night! League as a whole was -132
vs draft.
Brad Given's team managed to hold on, for a 2
point win over Gerry Dunn's
team. Team Given went 30/2 over the final 4
rounds, to sneak into top
spot.
Gerry's team bowled on the lanes next to Given's
on this night, and we
REALLY wish that Todd Harrison's wobbly pin would
have fell for the triple
strike - Todd managed a 167 vs Team given, but he
lost out by 11 pins
the last string. In the last 4 rounds, Brad's
team had the team high
triple
in 3 of them.
Third belonged to Jim Slaunwhite's team (Jim's on
vacation). They
split 4/4
against Chris Hollett's team - which finished 4th.
Chris Hollett finished with top average at 131.5,
Gerry at 128.6, and
Sean O'Flaherty at 127.8 (Sean bowled Gerry the
last night - Gerry had a
140-166-123 against him
.but he DID happen to get
an up the hill strike,
and a few REALLY good breaks off the side
but
damn it - he throws with
SPIN, and he's left-handed too! ).

April 26/05:
Weird night - league as a whole was + 231 above
draft.
However, some lanes were TERRIBLE, while others
were loose as #$)(@*.
Allie Ross (1623,6) vs Pat Birchill (1619,2)
John Marriott (1686,2) vs Doug Blackler (1766,6)
Barry Soward (1579,2) vs Jim Slaunwhite (1714,6)
Sean O'Flaherty (1557,2) vs Russell Shannon
(1579,6)
Brad Given (1719,6) vs Eric Banfield (1643,2)
Todd Harrison (1696,0) vs Chris Hollett (1794,8)
Matt Harnett (1896,8) vs Gerry Dunn (1726,0)
Note that Harnett had an 1896! They had 2 400's,
and a 399. They had
the two "brightest stars" against my team - took
all 8 from us by 170
pins,
and we had 1726!
And now, on my honor, I swear that when I came
around one night to
Jim Slaunwhite's team, someone had
written "50+.com" on their sheet,
and I thought they actually used that
themselves. Oh well - they're
in 1st
place now, anyway. So "tthbbbbbt"
Chris Hollett was not there, and Gerry had a
395. The top average is
pretty
well settled - needs to make up about 300 pins.
Barring a hernia and a
miracle,
Chris will finish as the top average again.
Congratulations on Doug Blackler's 3rd 400 in a
row. Helluva finish.
He'd only had 2 in the previous 32 weeks.
We're doing a triple session on Sunday at 8:30
am, which is going to be a
critical matchup - no big leads in this section.

April 19/05:
Pinfall was +156 vs draft.
Doug Blackler had his 2nd 400 in 2 weeks. But
he
got no points from
my team (Gerry Dunn) - we had the nightly high
triple at 1805. Brad
Given's
team had a 628 single. Gerry's team now has a 2
point lead over the
50+.com team - the OLD guys (Jim, Art, Randy,
Peter, and Gordon).
Remember, this coming Sunday, at 8:30ish, we'll
be bowling a triple
session. It has been decided that we'll give the
money away later in
the week. $15 is owed for the final Tuesday.
Ed Mahar had a 169 single to start the night,
which earned his team
their only 2 points of the night.

April 5/05: Pins were loose! League + 262 pins
vs draft.
The logjam at the top of the standings is almost
funny.
Two teams with 30 pts, 4 with 28 pts, and then 4
with 22 pts.
No one is running away with it.
David Cooper had his first 400 of the year (he
rejoined for this draft) to
carry Chris Hollett's team to 8 pts (Chris only
managed a 397
okay, maybe
that helped).
Trevor Zinck had a 379, after starting with a 92!
(92-149-138).
Pat Birchill had a 428, but only got 2 pts, due
to some consistent bowling
by Jim Slaunwhite's team (Jim wasn't there, but
everyone else was pretty
good - no one under 325, and no one over 363).
Matt Harnett had a 393
to take a commanding lead
on his father (before
this
week, both Matt and his father Steve had bowled
125 since the last
redraft,
with Matt holding a 1 pin advantage
.until this
week when Steve chucked a
319). I'm sure Matt is crying on the inside.

Mar 29/05: The league was +97, but it was a toss-
up between those
who bowled great, and those who did Baaaaad.
The top 2 teams (Banfield and Dunn) both lost. We
(Dunn) got 2,
at least. There is now a big logjam. 28,
26,24,24,22, adnd 22.
Now that it is April, remember! May 1, we start
at 8:30am (yes, for some
of you who have never seen one, Sundays do come
with an 8:30 in the
morning).
Brad Given's team lost the first 2 games by 25
pins, then won by 157
(670 vs 513). Nasty. Brad's team also ended up
with both the team
single and triple.
Mike Powell threw 3 big marks going out to steal
4 points away from my
team.

Mar 22/05:
The league as a whole was +50 pins vs draft.
It has been decided that the league is going to
bowl a triple session on
a weekend, and that there will NOT be a banquet.
We're going to try to
give out the money on the final night of bowling
(we'll start at 7:00).
Steve O'Laughlin has rejoined the league, to take
the one remaining
spot (Chris H's team) and he threw a 359 to
impress them. Doug McDonald
had a 166 to finish, and wound up with a 406.
Chris H lead with 409,
and John Marriott had a 403. Mark O'Laughlin
came in to spare, and threw
a 362 (beat his father by a couple of pins
but
not that many!).
John McTavish was also in, and threw a 319.

Mar 15/05: League was -252 vs draft.
So far, Gerry's team leads with 22/2 record - avg
of 573
but next is
Chris Hollett and Sean O'F's teams with 570
avgs
.but they are 6/18 and
10/14 respectively. However, every one of those 3
teams have now bowled
each other.
Weekly team high single was only 592 for Doug B's
team, and Eric's B's
team
was 1767 (carried by Trevor F's 430). Steve
Harnett had a nice 374
but
Matt H only had a 341. Ian Niven had a 356 while
Chris N only had 314.
Some
Dads had better start giving additional lessons!

Mar 8/05: League as a whole was + 154 pins. Sean
O'F's team had the high
single (621) and tirple (1827)
bowling against
Chris H's team (who
also had
the high single and triple thrown against him
LAST week).
After throwing 2 400's in 2 weeks, Eric Banfield
fallen back to normal
- 297
(ok, maybe that isn't "normal", but it sure as
heck is noticeable).
Sean O'F threw a 459 vs Chris H, for the 3rd
highest triple of the year.
The captains were presented with a few options,
including bowling a triple
session on a Sunday, so that we can finish the
league at a "normal" time.
There is also a discussion of having 6 men on a
team again (low man sits).

And FINALLY
.congragulations to Monday Madness
Ellen for throwing
a strike in the 24th box on Monday night (I
promised to mention her a
few weeks ago when she threw a spare and a strike
to win a game, but I
forgot! So now, I hope you appreciate your 15
minutes (seconds) of fame.
Mar 1/05: New Draft! New Teams! New Hope! Same
Lanes!...League as
a whole was -153 under draft average - averages
have been crawling
downwards ever since the first "juiced" section.
As for the draft, the top 14 average guys to show
up were captains.
The league is 1 bowler short - Chris H's team
will be taking the LOW SCORE
from the opposing team.
Chris H was hot - if he had been 2 pins better on
his last string he would
have had the 3 highest strings bowled - 438.
However
his team got no
points - Billy Q had 372, Glenn L had 383, and my
team wound up with
both the high single and triple ($25 each) for
the night vs his. For
anyone
curious, the first 4 headpins that Gerry hit were
for 8 pin breaks -
all splits
(he made 2 of them due to wood).
And
CONGRATULATIONS TO ERIC BANFIELD - happy
19th! And..
Remember that you are no longer a young offender,

Feb 22/05:
A weird and wild finish for the section. Redraft
to be held next Tuesday
at 6:30pm. The highest 14 averages to show up
will be captains.
Plus
.remember that 3 of the top guys are out of
the league -
Mark O'Laughlin, Bob Sutherland, and Steve
Carpentier. This means that
Robert Slaunwhite would be the 14th captain, and
have first pick.
**PLUS
as far as I know, we are still one bowler
short. Call 455-5446
if you want to go into the draft (100avg and up,
please).
As for how the final night went - the top teams
all got knocked around.
Doug Blackler's team and Sean O'Flaherty's team
both got 0, and the other
two top teams (Glen Thorne and Russell Shannon)
each got 4.
The teams that got 0 both faced off against a hot
bowler - Sean took on
Chris H (425) and Doug faced Jim S (431).
Ironically, both of the "hot"
teams ended up taking 8 pts
and they tied for 9th
and 10th.

Feb 15/05:
There is one week to go before the re-draft, and
there are 4 teams in
the hunt for 1st place. They have 66, 64, 64 ,and
62 pts. This week, NONE
of them bowl each other
so they will have to rely
on the unkindness of
strangers.
IF anyone wants to add their name to the list of
bowlers, please leave
your
name and average at 455-5446 (or ask for Doug
Blackler, Manager and
League President).
The league as a whole bowled their average - it
was PLUS 23 pins for
the 61 bowlers who were there.

46.7 Art Rudge (386), 49.1 Gordon Langille (377)
And
oh my god, the high single and triple for the
night went to Glen
Thorne's
team
but of course, Glen was the 2nd lowest on
the team. He relied on Todd
Harrison (388) and Art Rudge (386) and Randy
Slaunwhite (360) to carry
him.
And the funny thing is he doesn't even feel
embarassed. Oh Stella,
how can
you put up with him!
Chris Hollett took a bit of a lead on Gerry Dunn

Gerry had a chance for something big - he started
with a 169, then
he had 4 strikes in the first 5 boxes of the 2nd
game, but due to punching
a spread eagle, and a bit of bad luck, only had
140 (then 128).
Two weeks left to bowl before the redraft.
O'Flaherty's team leads by 4 pts over Russell
Shannon's (who managed to
get 6 pts from Chris Currie by winning 1 game and
TYING on the 2nd and
3rd).
There are a total of 5 teams within 8 pts of 1st
place - some big points
remainging to be won.
Mark O'Laughlin is back from working in the US,
as well.
Chris Hollett leads the averages by about 7 pins
over Gerry Dunn. Sean
O'Flaherty had a bad night, and is now back by
about 120 pins.
***P.J. Fancy has quit the league, leaving us
short a man.***
Feb 1/05: League as a whole was -149.
Only one 400 - Eric Banfield, 407, and one VERY
close - 399 for Matt
Harnett.
3 nights to go before the redraft. Top standings
are VERY tight.
My team (Chris Currie) got the high single and
tirple! Yippee! Too bad
we sucked for the last 6 weeks and cost ourselves
a chance at a top spot.
Tonight, it was Harnett against Harnett - Steve
(320) vs Matt "the next
generation" (399).
Compared to their draft averages:
45 James Hingly (309), 45.3 Matt Harnett (399),
46 Mark Crookshanks
(370),
55.7 Randy Slaunwhite (386), 57.2 Eric Banfield
(407)
Singles: 163 Randy Slaunwhite, 162 Chris Currie,
162 Eric Banfield,
157 Ian Niven, 154 Chris Hollett
Triples: 407 Eric Banfield, 399 Matt Harnett, 392
Robert Slaunwhite,
389 Jim Slaunwhite, 386 Chris Hollett
Jan 25/05: League as a whole was -162 again.
Blame it on the last #$AW@$# snowstorm on a
Sunday / Monday, I guess.
Bad backs for everyone! Except for
.
Singles:
192 Sean O'Flaherty, 162 Steve Carpentier, 152
Sean O'Flaherty,
150 Russell Shannon, 148 John Marriott
Triples:
490 Sean O'Flaherty, 427 Steve Carpentier, 401
Glen Thorne,
387 John Marriott, 381 Chris Hollett
Yes, Sean O'F had a lousy rotten 490 against my
hard-working team.
We should have won the 3rd string! 192 games are
not natural.
Wrecks the karma. He's bound to throw a gutter
ball.
Thanks to that performance, Chris H is still in
first, and Gerry is
2nd, but
Sean is now only 70pins away from them.
Larry Lovett and Paul Balcom dropped by to spare.
So did David Cooper
but the NASTY people on his team forgot to write
down any of his scores.
By some trick of lights, smoke, and mirrors, Glen
Thorne threw a 401!
Steve Carpentier also had a 427 (but that's MUCH
more believable).
Some incredibly tight matches this week:
Chris Hollett (1673,6) vs Pat Birchill (1655,2)
Gerry Dunn (1665,6) vs Allie Ross (1662,2)
Glen Thorne (1764,6) vs Bob Sutherland (1759,2)
I guess the team on the left gets the advantage -
since they got 6pts each
time.
Jan 18/05: Well
.not bad - the league was below
draft by 138.
The stars of the week were 30 Todd Harrison
(384), 31.7 Randy Slaunwhite
(362), 34.5 Ken McVeigh (366), 42.4 Bob Snair
(364), 43 James Hingly
(307).
Singles:
149 Barry Soward, 146 Trevor Feltmate, 145 Chris
Hollett, 143 Doug
Blackler,
139 Ken McVeigh
Triples: 399 Gerry Dunn, 385 Doug Blackler, 384
Todd Harrison,
380 Bert Hudson, 379 Barry Soward
One team (team Sutherlane) lost all 8 because
only 2 bowlers made it.
Phil West, Steve Carpentier, and Bob Sutherland
(injured) were all
missing.
Chris Hollett is still high average, by abou 13
pins over Gerry Dunn.
Both are
throwing 131.
The standings are lead by Russell Shannon and
Brad Given with 44 pts,
and Doug
Blackler is 3rd with 40.
And for anyone not in Nova Scotia, please be
aware that we had another
big #$@$) snowstorm on Sunday / Monday. There
should be a lot of sore
backs on Tuesday. Remember that spares are
welcome! Only $8! See some
good bowling, and the occasional big baby.
Jan 11/05: Oh horrors! It has happened again!
The league was -658 pins, spread over 63 bowlers.
45 men were under their average, lead by:
-61.4 Adam Jenkins (268), -55.7 Peter Blackler
(265), -48.6 Chris
Niven (312)
Mark O'Laughlin rebounded, after having a ROTTEN
night last week, he
had a 395 this week. People who had a good week
included:
37 James Hingly [who broke his glasses and bowled
with NONE] (301),
44.4 Cliff McKay (348), 46.4 Bob (birthday boy)
Snair (368),
and 47.1 Gordon Langille (375).
Two former bowlers, Jim Coolen (367) and Bert
Hudson (351) came back
to spare for a night. Jim was taking Allie's
place for the evening, and
helped his team earn 6pts.
Gerry's team managed to get 8 points, with
strings of 548, 518 (vs
509) and
534.
Singles: 149 Barry Soward, 149 Sean O'Flaherty,
144 Todd Harrison,
142 Mark O'Laughlin, 141 Gordon Langille
Triples: 395 Mark O'Laughlin, 382 Todd Harrison,
381 Chris Hollett
378 Sean O'Flaherty, 375 Gordon Langille
Jan 4/05: TERRIBLE TERRIBLE TERRIBLE!
The league as a whole was -700 pins, and 44 guys
were below their
draft, while 16 were above. The 5th high triple
was a 365.
Compared to draft: -73.1 Chris Hollett (325), -
72.3 Mike Powell (270)
-71 Mark O'Laughlin (310), -47.4 Adam Jenkins
(282), -43.5 Russell
Shannon (321)
Glen Thorne (since I was watching) threw 6 in a
row during his last
string
after starting with two in the 90's.
The high team triple went to Given, who were
bowling Blackler (which had
the high team triple). They are now tied for 3rd
and 4th. My team, Currie,
which had been in 1st, lost all 8, and now we are
2 points back. Russell
Shannon's team moved into first - despite his 321.
Singles: 159 Gerry Dunn, 156 Trevor Zinck, 148
Gerry Dunn, 146 Glen
Thorne,
142 Sean O'Flaherty
Triples: 435 Gerry Dunn, 383 Jim Slaunwhite, 382
Ian Niven,
373 Greg MacCallum, 365 Trevor Zinck
Dec 28/04: 14 out of 70 guys were missing -
probably due to bad
backs from shovelling snow, illness, Christmas
Hangovers, or intuition -
the lanes played hard, and the bowlers were a
combined -200 below
draft average.
Whatever the cause, only a few guys had good
nights:
34.5 Jim Gilbert (333), 46 Paul Yeadon (397),
57.2 Doug McDonald (383),
57.9 Tom Webster (393), 74 Trevor Feltmate (431)
Pay particular attention to the fact that Paul
Yeadon and Trevor Feltmate
had great nights (their best since their returns
to the league).
While many had bad ones.
-65.8 Glenn Leblanc (290), -65.6 Chris Niven
(295), -57.6 Glen Thorne
(300)
(oh my gosh
.not Glen!), -53.3 Gerry Dunn (346)
Chris Hollett was missing
but his average minus 5
still would have
been the
5th high triple for the night. HARD pins.
Singles: 159 Trevor Feltmate, 157 Ed Mahar, 152
Sean O'Flaherty,
148 Art Vassos, 147 Tom Webster
Triples: 431 Trevor Feltmate, 397 Paul Yeadon,
393 Tom Webster,
387 John Marriott
Dec 21/04:
League as a whole was +180 above draft average.
Interesting week. Fair number of guys missing -
remember, spares
pay $8! Spare often, and decide if it might be a
league you want to
join!
Chirs Hollett was high with a 424, but his team
bowled Doug Blackler's -
so Chris bowled John Marriott - who had a 406.
Doug McDonald also had a
helpful 364 (as the 2nd highest total on team).
They won the last string
by 2 pins (Chris got a spare in the 9th down by
8. John went first and
punched the spread eagle minus the 10. Chris got
7 on the spare - but left
the 2,4,10 - no wood. John took the two on the
left. Chris missed -
would've
hit the headpin. John took the 6 and 10. Chris
picked off the 4.)
Roy Wheeler had a big 150 the 3rd game to help
his team win (Sean O'F was
M.I.A.) 595 vs. 583 AND 1744 vs. 1738. Big points.
My team lost - we'd been 22-2 before the night,
and won our 1st. Then
Mark Reesor decided to try to get a 400. My only
moral victory is that
he had a 399 hahahahaha (I'm crying on the
inside).
In the battle of returning bowlers, Trevor
Feltmate 117.6, leads Paul
Yeadon
116.4 by just a little bit. Both were welcomed
back after a layoff of
a few
years from the Men's League, while they both
continued to bowl on Mondays.
And Randy Slaunwhite threw a healthy 408 to lead
his team - can't wait for
Glen Thorne to do it anymore! In one of the
strings, the team started
with
9 out of 10 boxes as marks - the one missing mark
was Glen Thorne's, of
course.
So, for any bowling junkies, to make up for last
week's mistake (I didn't
post the scores), I hope you have enjoyed your
present!

Roughest night's scores belonged to: -58.6 Glen
Thorne (299),
-48.3 Mike Powell (294), and -45 John Marriott
(312).
Mike had a bad leg. What's your excuse Glen!!!!!!!
Mr. Thorne finished with a sparkling 88 his third
game, too.
Chris H and Matt H both had a 400 for the second
week in a row.
Hurray! Matt H is on my team!
Art Rudge's son Alan also pointed out my little
note last week - now
my 50/50 tickets are getting thrown out! #$#@
Doug Blackler's team also went from having an
1811 last week, to a
1574. Should've had Thorne on that team - would
have fit right in.
Singles: 172 Chris Hollett, 153 Joe Slaunwhite,

Nov 30/04:
Interesting night - finished redraft at 7:10 and
bowl at 7:30.
League as a whole was +80 above draft. A few
interesting games -
John Marriott threw a mark in the 10th to win the
3rd string, and get
the team high triple (1811). My team (bowling
someone else) had 1806.
Marriott (bowling for Doug Blackler's team) threw
a 442 against Todd
Harrison (bowling for Glen Thorne's team).
Chris Hollett had a 410 against Gerry Dunn's 385
to edge past him
for high average. And
.Art Rudge had a 301 after
having a 424 last
week. Sorry Art - you have to admit it was a
significant change.

Stars! John Marriott had a massive 442, and Matt
Harnett had 408, each
having been captains the last section (but not
this one).

51 Todd Harrison (405), 52.7 Randy Slaunwhite
(383),
54.3 Matt Harnett (408), 85 John Marriott (442)
Nov 23/04:
End of section! O'Flaherty wins the section by 3
pts (they had a 1 pt
lead before the night).
All of McLaughlin's T&T arrived for a video shoot
for TV - congratulations
again. Also, Mark O'Laughlin was on the runner-up
team, but he had the
high triple for tonight, with a 431.
The draft will be held on Tuesday night at 6:30
before bowling. Welcome
back Trevor Feltmate, Paul Yeadon, Phil West, and
Barry Soward
(who had a 397 as a spare).
League was +191 above draft.
Some odd scores - Art Rudge had the high single,
and the 2nd
high triple! Sorry Art, but even you had to
admit it was a bit weird.
Unfortunately, he bowled with Chris Hollett, and
they had their
166 and 165 in the 3rd game - giving them a 674
single against
my team (we had a respectable 606).
Singles: 175 Russell Shannon, 166 Art Rudge, 165

Nov 16/04:
World Championships took a lot of people! Only
44 people bowled out of
70. The league was +272 for the guys who showed
up. Oh well.
And
MacLaughlin's wins! MacLaughlin's wins!
MacLaughlin's wins!
Stars:52 Chris Niven (388), 56.9 Joe Slaunwhite
(368), 69.9 Chris Lutz
(396)
Fallen Stars:-82.1 Mark Reesor (283), -50 Mark

Nov 9/04: League was almost exactly at the draft -
15 pins up.
Captains decided that they WOULD bowl this week,
despite the
bulk of the captains being away at the World
Championships in
Bangor.
Go Canada!
Singles: 152 Eric Banfield, 148 Doug Blackler,
148 Bill Downey,
148 Todd Harrison, 145 Ian Niven
Triples: 411 Doug Blackler, 404 Todd Harrison,
391 Brad Given,

Nov 2/04: League was actually DOWN 94 below
draft. Hurray!
However, my team was "off", and we got flattened
by 155 pins.
Darn you Peter Blackler, why did you have to beat
your brother!
Gerry edged out Chris H by 2 pins. Top spot
belongs to Gerry.
Singles: 164 Jim Slaunwhite, 157 Bobby Kyte, 151

Triples: 421 Jim Slaunwhite, 411 Bobby Kyte, 407
Brad Given,
406 Davey Somerton, 397 Gerry Dunn
Oct 26/04:
Pins weren't QUITE as loose - +327.
To put it bluntly - Doug Blackler - you were
COMPLETELY distracted by
*Boston winning the World Series*. A 310???!!!
Lucky we carried you - took
6 points from first place team, including pinfall
by 1 pin, on the
strength of
Bobby Kyte only managing a 9 pin drop on his
spare in the 10th. Nervous?
Nooooo, we weren't nervous at all.
Steve Carpentier had a 177 (430 triple), and he
now posesses the top 2
strings thrown this year (had a 185 earlier).
Chris Hollett had 168 to
take
over 3rd place tonight. No money for it, but
there is some pride..
And Chris Hollett had another 400
after starting
with a 92 (92-168-147).
And Gerry Dunn had another 400. In fact, of the
35 400's thrown so far,
Chris (7) and Gerry (5) have 12.
Stars: 40.1 Gerry Dunn (419), 43.1 Rob Murphy
(353), 49.6 Art Vassos
(376),
88 Steve Carpentier (430)

407 Chris Hollett,
389 Bobby Kyte, 386 Jim Slaunwhite
Oct 19/04: EXTREMELY LOOSE lanes +508 above draft!
Some teams couldn't hit the side of a barn, while
others kept them
falling. Gerry Dunn took over top average with
474. Chris only had his
6th 400+ in 8 nights.
Speaking of 8's
.of the 7 matches, 4 of them were
8 point wins.
Team Ross had an 1845, and Team Harnett had a
642 - despite
Matt Harnett being low that game with a 113 (333
total)!
Team Ross was lead by Allie Ross's 410, and Ross
Townsend's 390
(no joke Gerry! The one bloody time you don't
draft him).
Gerry's team wound up with a 637 single and an
1812 triple. Oh
so close to the $50 in nightly prizes
just a few
more pins.
Stars: +79 Chris Niven (415), +82.1 Rob Murphy
(392),
+82.8 Ross Townsend (390), and +95.1 Gerry Dunn
(474)
Singles: 167 Gerry Dunn, 155 Allie Ross, 154

153 Darrell Martin
Triples: 474 Gerry Dunn, 418 Chris Hollett, 415

Oct 12/04: Loose lanes - +411 pins above avg!
Triples: 428 Todd Sisco, 426 Steve Carpentier,
408 Chris Hollett,
406 Pat Birchill, 404 Russell Shannon, 402 Bob
Sutherland.
Singles: 185 Steve Carpentier, 168 Todd Sisco,
153 Bob Sutherland,
150 Eric Banfield, 149 Russell Shannon
Steve Carpentier lead the way with a 184 game,
making him +84
above draft. Mike Bennett kept hitting them (but
punching) and
was -60. Matt Harnett had a good night with 398,
and Jim Slaunwhite
had a 397. Mark Reesor almost made it with a
394 - better than he
had when he threw his 2 160+ games. Consistency!
Consistency!
Consistency!
Not to make a big deal out of it, but Chris
Hollett took over the top avg
this week. Gerry Dunn 131, Sean O'Flaherty 131,
and Chris H 132
are cluttering up the top spot.
Oct 5/04: Lanes were a bit dry, league was down
212.
I'm in a hurry, so:
Singles:
153 Glen Thorne, 152 Peter Blackler, 151 Gerry
Dunn, 150 Gerry Dunn,
147 Chris Hollett
Triples: 410 Gerry Dunn, 404 Chris Hollett, 386
Greg MacCallum,
375 Glenn Leblanc, 375 Russell Shannon
Sept 28/04: The league as a whole was +254 over
draft.
Scott Melvin +58 and Adam Jenkins +57 lead the
way.
In the battle of the Nivens, Chris was missing
this week, so
Ian gained a few pins on him by throwing a 373.
Steve Harnett was
also missing this week, but his son Matt was
unable to make up any
ground when he threw a 339. Matt - you must be
like Samson -
let the hair grow back, and your strength shall
return!
Highs: 404 John Marriott, 403 Bobby Kyte, and 403
Brad Given.
166 Chris Lutz, 164 Bobby Kyte, 158 Todd Sisco,
and 144 Travis Slaunwhite
(yet another Slaunwhite who can bowl - it must be
genetics!).
Sept 21/04: The league as a whole was +374 over
draft - pins are
still quite loose. I found the lanes to be a
touch drier than last week.
Stars of the week were Paul Jolimore 354 (+47)
and Gordon Langille 375
(+45).
423 Gerry Dunn, 411 Chris Hollett and 407 Sean
O'Flaherty made 400.
The top 3 bowlers had the only 400's - and Chris
is in 3rd place! Might
be a bit more interesting this year - if the
others can keep it going.
Glen Thorne (123) and Art Vassos (122) continue
to do well - both
averaging big after 4 weeks.
Welcome back to the league Cliff McKay! He has
replaced Foster Sheffield.
Sept 14/04: Lester Milton was the only person who
came for his team,
and he threw a fantastic 408. Congratulations
Lester!
The league as a whole was +174 for the week.
Mark Reesor threw his second 160+ game in as many
weeks.
******************
Sept 7/04: Second night. Scores were not posted,
as my father passed
away suddenly. Please don't smoke.
******************
Aug 31/04: First Night. MANY people were missing.
Some illness, some
unknown. Fallen stars - my worst night! I,
Matthew Cleveland, had a
272 (-51). Oh, it was baaaad (2 spares). Hurray
for Billy Quinn (401,
+84) and Glenn LeBlanc (421, +67).
Pinfall was WAY up - overall, +524 above draft
average. Fairly heavy
oi (in my opinion)l.
400s: Doug Blackler 430, Chris Hollett 429,Sean
O'Flaherty 422,
Glenn LeBlanc 421, Mark O'Laughlin 413, Billy
Quinn 401, Chris Niven 400,
and Bobby Kyte 400.
Special congratulations to Chris Niven - maybe
you could give your
Dad some lessons (hmmmm
..only had a 342 - guess
we know who
has bragging rights now!)
And
my apologies to Tom O'Laughlin, for not
having changed the draft
date on my site. It was moved to Sunday night!
League change as well - it is intended that the
HIGHEST avg person to
show up for a draft, will be a captain. No
more "dumb" teams - someone
has to pick them, from now on. |
