| Note: |
The clubs should make a ball fly....as far as you
hit them. There is no single distance for each
club. Depending upon the speed of the club head,
and whether or not it is being hit from a tee or
the ground (I find I can hit a ball cleaner from
a tee, than off the turf), the distances will
vary.
For someone to make a noticeable change in their
distances, you need to get the flexibility to
make a 'clean' shot. You should also have the
muscle to swing it fast.
Keep in mind that distance is not everything. If
you can hit your 3 wood straight, that is better
than hitting a crooked driver 250 yards. To score
well in golf, it is accuracy, and not exclusively
distance that gets you a good score.
The player that knows how to hit a ball a
specific distance with their particular club will
score better than the person with a 250 yard
drive who cannot judge a 135 yard 2nd shot -
meaning that they will lose their ball in the
woods, or have to do a series of chip shots
before they stop the ball on the green. |
