President: Doug Blackler, Manager of Fairlanes
Where: Halifax Fairlanes, at the Halifax Shopping Center
When: Tuesdays, 7:30pm to about 10:15pm
Cost: $15 per night (spares are welcome)
League Size: 12 teams
League Structure: 3 sections of 11 weeks, with a REDRAFT for each
section - giving the most fair league that I have ever been in.
Imagene a league where you CAN'T get stuck on one bad team for
any longer than 1/3 of the year!

Team Structure: 5 men per team

Apr 1: Tim Carrigan 459, John Harrietha 442, Greg Lowe 422,
Chris Hollett 418, Steve Carpentier 405.

Mar 25: Todd Harrison 422, Tim Carrigan 424.

Mar 18: Doug McDonald (405) and Sean O'Flaherty (403). First night
I bowled without an approach in a few years (ie. One step). My
team was REAL close - but Doug McDonald had his 400 - including
finishing with 78 pins in the final 4 boxes (we lost by 18). Joe S Slaunwhite
is gone for the year (tendinitis) and if there is a 105-110 avg guy who
wants to bowl for the final 7 weeks - call fairlanes and ask for Doug
Blackler!

Mar 11: Gerry! 441!

Mar 4: Lotta 400's - Chris Hollett, Steve Colbert, John Harrietha,
Randy Slaunwhite, Sean O'Flaherty, and Glenn Leblanc.

Feb 25: New Teams! Plus, I found out that I missed two nights
when Steve Carpentier spared - so he drafted 1 position higher
than he should have. However, it was brought to my attention
by Ron (the Money Man), about an hour too late. However,
teams are drafted, and errors happen (sorry Bob Sutherland! And
coincedentally, the nights Steve spared, were on your team in
the first section - weeks 9 and 10 - I never entered him as a spare).

Feb 18: End of the line. Tim Carrigan had 401, and his team
took first. New draft next week, to be done at 6:15pm, prior
to bowling. Hurrah! A new start :)

Feb 11: Whole lotta 400's, and pins were flying! Congrats to:
Tim Carrigan 428, Bobby Kyte 425, David O'Laughlin 414,
Doug McDonald 407, Chris Hollett 405, Peter Blacker 405
Pelham now has a good grip on 1st, but there is a logjam
everywhere else. The last night of the section can see 12th place
move up to 6th, and vice versa - so it should be an interesting night.

Feb 4: Tonight Mike Bennett had a big 414, taking 6 points
from the league leading Pelham Electric. With two weeks to go,
the top 4 teams are fighting it out for 1st. Congratulations
to Glen Thorne on his second big night in 3 weeks (138,141,138 - 417).
But remember - nobody can tell him I said so! And a big congratulations
to Roy Wheeler's 169 - he had 9 straight marks to start the 3rd game,
and left a version of the spread eagle in the tenth.

Jan 21: Woo Hoo again! Another 8 for my team (O'Laughlin)
and McDonald's. The teams which had been doing the WORST
after the first 5 weeks have now EACH move up significantly
over the last two weeks. Congratulations to Glen Thorne (123,149,134)
with a 406 - BUT never forget, HE'S NOT THAT GOOD! And don't
be afraid to tell him. Also, Pelham Electric has grown a strong lead
in the standings, and they look very hard to catch.

Jan 14: Woo Hoo! My team got 8 points (and we only had 4
after the first 5 weeks!). Pat Birchill had a nice 440, and Chris
Hollett had a 423. Scores were low this week - with a team
high triple of 1735, for Corbett's team.

Jan 7: Sean O'F had a whopping 445, and Gerry had a 418
(tripling their team points from 3 to 9). The top 3 teams all lost,
tightening up the race quite a bit.

Jan 6: Ok, I am just updating my site today - a little bit late.
However, things should run a bit more smoothly for now.
The last night of bowling - December 17 - Doug Blackler blew
everything off the lanes for a 453. Other people did good - the
lanes seemed a bit funny.

Nov 19: Chris Hollett - 171-148-162 [481] wow. Chris is the
Men's World Singles champion for 2002, and several league
bowlers were on the championship team (MacLaughlin's T&T).
Draft is on Tuesday night. Hurrah!

Nov 5: Chris Hollett is peaking for the World's next week - and
he WON the Singles Championship! However, Sean O'Flaherty
had a 404 vs. Chris's 429, to take 6 points. Todd Harrison
had an even 400, and John Harrietha was REAL close (396).
No bowling next Tuesday, due to the World Championships
in Bangor.

Oct 29: Oi. My bad year continues. Chris Hollet and Todd Harrison had big 400's.

Oct 22 - Team standings tigtened up - O'Laughlin has shot near the top, and Harrison's has faltered. 3 weeks left, and 24 big points are out there. And…Chris Hollett got another 400, after the longest drought in about 3 years.

Oct 15 - Ian Niven and Mark O'Loughlin got their first 400's,
and Mark finished with a heck of a 9 box to do it (punched
the 1,5,7, then picked off the 2, and came back to get the
7 pin to fall after it wobbled for a little while). 3 matches
went 4-4, and 3 went 6-2 (with the top teams losing).
Weird and wonderful bowling continues next week - spares welcome!

Oct 8 - I got 307! Whoo whoo! OOOOhhhhhhhhh yah!
And Glenn Leblanc had a wonderful 410 - 99,185,126
(he started with spare, triple, then another 2 spares, I believe).
Mark O'Loughlin had his sixth consecutive 400 thrown against
him [ouch] - brings out the best in people.

Oct 1 - Some 400's, Carquest's lead expands, and I got 2 games
over 100! Had 3 marks all night! Wow. Averages are clustered,
and so are the team standings - after taking out 1st place.
Sept 26 - Mike Bennett bowls a 200 game! Finishes with a double in
the 10th, with 7 on it! Lots of 400's…and I had 264, damn it. It was
hot, humid, and uncomfortable - the floor was sticky.

Sept 17 - Chris H (438 - 166,151,121) and Greg M (412) bowled well, but only got 2 points (I had a 276 - whoopie!). Tim Carrigan spared for Bob Sutherland again, and had another 400 - and next week Bob returns.

Sept 9 - Several 400's, most notably Harrietha marked out to win
the game, and Chris Hollett continues to lead the average - without
a 400 (he had 399, to celebrate his birthday), and I HAD A DOUBLE
STRIKE! (Pay close attention, because it doesn't happen often)
Tim Carrigan also spared for Bob Sutherland again - and he's averaged 139 over 2 nights.

Sept 2 - Tim Carrigan bowled big (441) as a spare, Bob Kyte had
171, Mike Venedam and Steve Colbert had 165. Let the battle
 Begin!
